It all starts with a cut sheet - a diagram of all the pieces, where they go and in what order. This also keeps the waste down to an absolute minimum.
Based on what the owner requested, room for storage, cookbooks, and mail.
The edge veneer is 1/16" stock to match the face frame (not from a store bought roll).
The "shop-space". A big challenge here was working in a space 6 feet by 8 1/2 feet. The walls were covered in plastic, and with a fan in the window, dust was exhausted to the outside.
Birch plywood scribed level to counter-top.
The doors are made up of one piece of birch - for the look of the wood grain.
The doors below were cut to center the grain pattern, like a butterfly...
I had to shoot these photos with only one coat of poly on, so it will be that much richer on Monday...
